Meet The Owner
I am Maria. I'm the founder and owner of Prom Bae which was formerly known as Madame Couture's! I’m a child of God, wife, mother, and a “GeGe". I know God has a sense of humor because I always said I would never do retail. But when I was laid off from my previous job as a funeral services employee, I took what I knew, invested in retail coaching, and built a successful retail brick-and-mortar business in one short year. That little shop became what is now Prom Bae, in the heart of downtown Statesboro, GA.
My Roots:
I grew up in Knoxville, TN in Government Housing. Needless to say, money was in seriously short supply. My mother was a high school dropout and a single parent of 7 for the first seven years of my life – but she refused to let our circumstances limit our opportunities. She went back to school at the age of 32 and earned her GED, at 36 she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education while working 2 part-time jobs – and taught me through her actions to never give up, but also, the value of hard work.

The Vision
Since its founding in 2012, Madame Couture’s, now Prom Bae, has been here for the community. We opened as an affordable clothing consignment shop and in 2016, converted to all formal dresses.
